What Happens When You Eat Chipotle Every Day? You Get a Boatload of Attention

If you're going to eat fast food on a daily basis, Chipotle is one of the better options. Which is a good thing; as of yesterday, 23-year-old L.A. animator Andrew Hawryluk has eaten at Chipotle for 154 straight days, and everyone seems interested in hearing about it. USA Today, Business Insider and even Cosmopolitan have written about his eating adventure.

He started his journey on Feb. 18, the first day of Lent. Instead of giving up something for Lent, he decided to not give up eating at Chipotle every day. He dubbed his non-fasting holiday Chipotlent. At the end of Lent, he decided to keep going, changing the name of his experiment from Chipotlent to Chipotlife.

Hawryluk eats the same thing almost every time he's at the fast-food restaurant, which recently went mostly GMO-free. He orders what he calls the Impeccabowl, a "burrito bowl consisting of white rice, chicken, guacamole, and lettuce with Tabasco chipotle sauce on top." Hawryluk goes into great detail about his choice of those particular ingredients and the order in which they go into the bowl in the FAQ section of his blog. To prove he's doing this, he posts a photo daily of his meal along with a receipt. He usually only eats one of his daily meals at Chipotle.

What I'm finding interesting about all the attention he's getting is his response. If you take a look at his Twitter feed (@waryhulk; now deleted), you can tell he doesn't just like that Chipotlife has gone viral; he thinks it's hysterical.

In reading his tweets from the past couple of days as more news outlets have picked up his story and more people have talked about it on social media. I realized this guy is just like anyone else getting 15 minutes of fame. He's having a ball.

I wonder what would have happened if blogs and Twitter and things going viral had been around when I was younger? I ate peanut butter and jelly every day for lunch from the time I was in kindergarten until the day I graduated high school. If I had photographed and posted my sandwich every day, would my devotion to PB&J; have been newsworthy? If it had been, I hope I would have had as much fun with it has Hawryluk is having.
