Amazing photos of high-density housing in Hong Kong

Designboom shows the extraordinary photos of high-rise housing in Hong Kong, taken by Australian photographer Peter Stewart.

This is public housing, not the high end condos you see climbing Victoria Peak, and it is seriously dense and close together: "the expansive altitudes of residences and domestic spaces are saturated in rich structural detail and humanistic signs of the everyday occupant living there."

Almost every unit has a minisplit air conditioner; these are standard equipment now. I wonder how loud it gets in what appear to be little more than air shafts. Lots more photos at Designboom.
