Though they are charming, overly cute and rustic tiny homes are a dime a dozen (no offense intended for those who have an affection for the aesthetic). So we get that warm, fuzzy feeling when we come across small homes with a bit of extra personality, like this modern tiny house on wheels nicknamed "Serena" and located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Seen over at Tiny House Listings, this 224-square-foot house features two sets of French doors in one corner, which let plenty of daylight in, and when opened, creates a feeling of continuity with the outside world. This one end wall is angled too, making a small overhang and porch to welcome people in.
There's a built-in wall storage to one side of the house which the lister (owner?) Frances Aurora calls “great wall of Serena,” made for tucking away clothes, shoes, books and more. There is custom-made furniture that can tuck away or expand out to create more surfaces to put things on. The sofa is actually part of a trundle bed that pulls out from under the raised platform at the back, where the kitchen is located.
The kitchen has a double-basin sink, and quite a bit of counter space that doubles as the eating area, and a space suitable for larger refrigerators.
The iridescent red-tiled bathroom punches you right in the face -- personality, lots of it -- and the relatively large bathtub means that you can soak and have your tiny too.
With a modern, open-concept layout and featuring some convenient space-saving ideas, it's certainly a unique tiny home with an in-your-face character. For those who are interested and who aren't faint of heart while bathing, the Serena is now for sale for USD $50,000. For more information, visit Tiny House Listings.
