Commenters were outraged by a recent post that discussed how many birds are killed by cats. They love little Fluffy and noted that cats which are kept indoors are not killing birds.
So in contrite apology, we present Krabhuis, Dutch for scratch-house, as a home for your cat, designed by three Rotterdam architects. It was designed to save their designer furniture, by giving the cat a cardboard alternative that matched their taste in design. It also takes the tiny house movement to a whole new level.
Krabhuis was designed like a child would draw a house, complete with window and chimney. The measurements are 38 x 34 x 52 centimer. Your cat may enter through one of the sides that’s left open, may sharpen it’s nails on the roof and through the window your cat may look outside.
It is made from 48 layers of cardboard made from 90% recycled material and is assembled in a sheltered worship. It "combines the feline fascination for cardboard boxes with the need for something to sharpen their nails on while solving the complete lack of beautiful furniture for cats out there."
It's not cheap at 69 Euros (US$ 88.64 before shipping) but hey, it looks a lot better than a cardboard box, and it's designed by architects! Order yours from Krabhuis here.
