The Measure of a City

Monocle Magazine "believes that the measure of a city is more about everyday wonders - pavements, well-designed schools, punctual transport - rather than one-off grand projects." And they prove their point with a world tour of small bits of infrastructure: bike storage in Chicago, trams in Barcelona, clocks in Prague, malls in Miami and toilets in Tokyo. They have prepared a video with wonderful illustrations by Tokuma and narration by David Phelan that is a six minute wonder for anyone who is interested in why cities work. ::Monocle via ::Architechnophilia2007-07-12_120140.jpg
