The Bird's Nest tree house at the Treehotel hides among the branches
TreeHugger has previously admired the Almost Invisible Mirrored Tree House Built In Sweden at the wonderful Treehotel, but it is only one of six (update: now seven) remarkable structures. Another way of making oneself less visible and intrusive is camouflage, the approach taken by Bertil Harström of Inredningsgruppen; He covers his suite in sticks and makes like a birds nest.

Treehotel describes the suite:
This concept is based upon the contrast between exterior and interior. From the outside it appears as a big nest, only the scale separating it from other nests in the vicinity. Discreet windows are almost hidden by the network of branches.
Inside it's a high standard room with modern design. A coachwork panel decorates the inner wall. There is space and beds for a family with two children. The bedroom is a separate room with sliding doors. You access the nest by a retractable staircase.
It squeezes a lot into 18 square meters (about 180 square feet), much smaller than your standard hotel room. At 20 feet off the ground, the retractable stair must be fun.
