Every time we write about the virtues of compact fluorescent bulbs, we hear DANGER! MERCURY! even though the amount in a modern CFL is really minimal. It's nothing like what is found today in a standard four foot bulb, and that is a fraction of what it was 50 years ago when this photo was taken, at Germany's biggest agricultural fair, International Green Week. Shocking, the working conditions this poor woman playing matador has to live with. Fortunately, we are all moving on to less toxic LEDs.
It appears to be a Philips promotion: "A leading manufacturer of electronic systems for the home presents his artistic vision of the future of bullfighting at the International Green Week Berlin."
