In Architecture, Designing Green is More Profitable

HOK.jpg

HOK, one of the world’s largest architectural firms, set out recently to determine if its green building projects are more or less profitable than their conventional jobs. The findings from their review of 15 sustainable design projects, reported in Environmental Building News, is that green buildings are on average 25% more profitable than conventional ones completed during the same time period. HOK has a large portfolio of sustainable buildings including the San Mateo County Forensics Lab in California, pictured above. And for those who want to do it like HOK, they offer the Guidebook to Sustainable Design, which we covered in July. :: Environmental Building News
