Green Building 101: Indoor Air Quality

We played hookey during last week's Inhabitat's Green Building 101 on Materials, part 2 but wouldn't think of missing this week's class on Indoor Environmental Quality. It is a particularly appropriate lesson in the heat and humidity, when so many of us are trapped inside with no easy way to get fresh, moving air. Inhabitat teaches that "Buildings enhance people’s lives when they permit ample air circulation, maintain clean air and comfortable temperatures, and allow individuals to have a sense of control over their own indoor experience." Buildings also enhance our environment and our wallet when they breathe naturally without air conditioning. Wonderful examples from Shigeru Ban and Marmol Radziner. ::Inhabitat
