We mentioned earlier our concern for an entire generation of buildings that is being lost because they are not old enough to be "historic". John B. Parkin's Bata Shoe Headquarters was like that- too small and on a prime site so it had to go. It is not only a waste of embodied energy stored in a perfectly good building, it is an artistic loss. We cannot afford to keep doing this.
