If reducing your dependence on fossil fuels and saving the planet isn’t reason enough to commute on your bike, Levi’s hopes to sweeten the pot with their latest collection of performance apparel – the Levi’s Commuter Series for Spring 2012. Spandex, be gone.
Following the launch of Levi’s Commuter clothing in the U.S. last year, the latest collection offers more pieces designed specifically with the city cyclist in mind. The new styles were created to provide bikers with greater mobility and protection.
The Commuter Work Shirt is a light weight chambray button-up with venting for breathability. 3XDRY repels water and stains, absorbs perspiration, and the shirt is equipped with a utility pocket and an extended tail for extra coverage.
The 511 Commuter Jean sports NanoSphere® Technology which makes the fabric water resistant, dirt repellant, and more durable. The jeans also have: reflective tape on interior cuff for visibility; reinforced fabric in crotch, back pockets and belt loop for durability; performance stretch fabric for added mobility and comfort; utility waistband for u-lock storage; and higher back rise for additional coverage when riding.
The Commuter Trucker Jacket, above, has the same performance components of the jean, but also has a slight drop tail for additional coverage when riding, touring pockets for easy to reach rear storage, accordion sleeves for additional fabric that expands for increased mobility, angled front pockets for easy access, and elongated cuffs to partially covers hands.
The All-Weather Commuter Trucker Jacket is like the Trucker Jacket, but is made of treated stretch, twill fabric and includes a concealed Nylon hood.
Now get on your bikes and ride.
