Calling all fashion addicts: On February 10 at the Electric Ballroom in Camden Town, London, Anti-Apathy is presenting a cabaret-style event featuring eco-fashion labels from all over the U.K. including Junky Styling, Enamore, People Tree, and Noki, to name a few. Inspired by a meeting with innovative designer Katharine Hamnett, this show is filled with a top-notch fashion line-up, live music and a dazzling catwalk show that'll be sure to leave you purring. Coinciding with the event, Anti-Apathy will also unveil the winning participants of "The Fashion Addict Experiment "Twelve lucky people will meet fashion designers and take on a range of tasks during the following month. The contestants will be chosen from a group of applicants, ages 15-34. Their qualifications? Harboring the guilty pleasure of an incessant shopping habit, and of none-too-eco clothing. The experiment is simple: To see whether or not shopping for clothes that are recycled, reconditioned, organic or sweatshop-free is easy. Each participant will be releasing their experiences into the blogosphere via the Anti-Apathy Web site.
At the same time, Anti-Apathy and Junky Styling will unveil their new recycled joint-venture called "Worn Again." Made from surplus French military jackets, this hot merchandise is available at Junky's shop, located just off Brick Lane in London. Purchase one prior to February 10 and the jacket is your ticket into the event. ::Anti-Apathy [by KD]
