London Fashion Week may have finished a few weeks ago, but we're still enjoying the prospects of the AW10 ethical collections, such was the high quality on offer. Of course we loved Christopher Raeburn's and Ada Zanditon's amazing designs, but there was one more label that stood out from the Estethica crowd, which we can't go without mentioning. Goodone is a young, but not new, UK ethical label, that has really come into its own this season. We absolutely loved their sexy body-con knits made from upcycled fabrics.
High Quality Upcycling
For the AW10 collection Goodone founder and designer Nin Castle says her label is combining both deconstructed used garments and end of line fabric off cuts from textile factories. "We want to push a new level of quality within upcycling by mixing surplus luxury fabrics with used garments. This season we have introduced new textiles such as cashmere off-cuts and end-of-roll British knit, allowing more freedom of design without losing sight of our strong and feminine look."
We love the curvaceous forms of the collection, not only in the shapes of Goodone's distinctive coloured panels, but also the added dimensions of padded knitted panels for the hips in the skirts, dresses and leggings. Nin Castle has also picked up on the current trend for textured tights/leggings with knitted stripes going down the back of her designs.
There's no danger of needing to cover up to stay warm next winter with Goodone's black crochet body, their quilted cropped hoodie and their super cool aran style knitted bomber. Sexy, funky, and streetwise, we're looking forward to showing off our curves in Goodone AW10.
