Hooraay for spring, sunshine, flowers and new pretty ethical clothing collections like Adili's recently launched Own-Label. This popular online fashion store, that won Retailer of the Year at the Re: Fashion Awards in November, has branched out from stocking regular ethical fashion favourites to creating their own 15 piece collection for SS09. Designed by Sury Bagenal the collection celebrates sustainable fabrics and traditional Indian embroidery skills from a women's cooperative in Gujarat. Click through to see more images...
Adili Own-Label demonstrates a sort of simple casual chic that is easy to wear day or night with all sorts of accessories. The ethical jewelry label Leju has designed a bespoke range using their trademark tagua nut to compliment the Adili collection's bright colours and delicate details.
We're impressed by Adili's attention to the sourcing of sustainable fabrics including, organic cotton, bamboo and peace silk as well as their engagement with Fairtrade practices and support of traditional crafts. Designer Sury Bagnenal who was previously at Designers for Debenhams says "I was passionate about taking these traditional skills into a contemporary and modern design for the western market."
With its great eco-credentials, easy wearability, pretty detailing and accessible price points Adili's Own-Label is a great addition to the online ethical fashion world.
