20 Seasonless Green Accessories to Wear Year-Round

Hand-loomed silk and wool shawl from eBay's World of Good.

When World of Good by eBay asked me to choose my favorite eco-fashion picks from their fair trade marketplace -- packed with thousands of products that positively influence people and planet -- for a feature on their site, I jumped at the chance to go "virtual window shopping" and pick accessories that accent outfits, regardless of seasonal trends or personal style; I honed in on clothing made by hand with high-quality, local and traditional textiles, crafts that create employment in underserved areas, and accessories made with low-impact materials and following fair trade standards.

From an elegant raw silk clutch to a cute coin purse made with candy wrappers, find out what topped my list of eco-fashion picks (including one worn by Julia Roberts in Eat, Pray, Love), after the jump.

Versatile Necklace and Bracelet made with Wood Beads

Brasil BioDesigns brings the handcrafts of Brazilian artisans to a global market. According to World of Good, their products are, "100% handmade from natural and sustainable materials." Pictured here is a wood bead -- an alternative to mined metals -- bracelet and necklace, which can be worn long or double wrapped.

Fair Trade Foil Wrapper Coin Purse

A bright coin purse made with candy wrappers is an eco-fashion statement that has yet to go out of style. Mexico-based MYO Accessories, members of the Fair Trade Federation and The International Federation of Fair Trade (IFAT), employ mostly women to handcraft their products, and they give them the opportunity to take the materials to their homes so they can better care for their families while they work.

Handmade Raw Silk Clutch & Hand-embroidered Wool Belt

On the left, a handmade raw silk clutch, made in Brazil, adds instant glam to any outfit, and it even has a blown-glass centerpiece; and on the right, a hand-embroidered wool belt made in Peru (that I missed for inclusion in my feature but caught in time for this post; thanks to tipster Lonnie) which is worn by the Julia Roberts in Eat, Pray, Love.
