West Coast Green 2008 Goes Solar Powered with SolaRover

West Coast Green has partnered up with SolaRover in order to power a handful of major areas of the event via the sun, proving that the conference is doing more than just talk about green innovation. The endeavor is also setting records for San Jose's McEnery Convention Center. SolaRover is a mobile solar power systems provider, and thanks to their help, West Coast Green's solar power effort is the biggest transition from traditional electricity to solar power the convention center has seen to date.

A 10 kW mobile solar power generator will be set up, complete with 14 175-watt solar panels that charge 18 batteries. The generator will power the conference's green showhouse, the Innovation Pipeline, the SG Blocks "Harbinger", and Al Gore — er, well, the Civic Auditorium in which he is speaking on Sunday.
