If you’ve ever had the distinct pleasure of staying in Liz Lambert’s divinely-designed Hotel San Jose in Austin, TX, you may have an idea of the perfectly curated haven that awaits at El Cosmico, her latest lodging concept.

Several hundred miles west of Austin in the artist-magnet, high-desert town of Marfa, Texas, the 18-acre plot of land includes five trailers for rent. The property is “part vintage trailer, safari tent and teepee hotel and campground, part creative lab, greenhouse and amphitheatre -- a community space that fosters and agitates artistic and intellectual exchange."

Lambert has worked with the architecture firm of Lake/Flato and Jack Sanders of Design Build Adventure, as well as with her own team of artists, builders and students, to create a "unique communal outpost in the West Texas desert." And that she did. There’s beauty, community, and always an inspiring assortment of events to take part in. ($100-150 per night)
