It's a typical grey November day here in Ontario, Canada. I'm staring out the window, imagining myself somewhere hot and tropical, where I could lie on a beach, soak up the sunshine, swim in a salty sea, and drink an icy cocktail. You get the picture. While that probably won't happen today -- or, let's be realistic, at any point this winter -- it's still nice to dream! Being an armchair traveler is better than no traveler at all.
That's why I was pleased to see that Flight Network released its first-ever list of the World's 50 Best Beaches today. A press release explains that the list was compiled with inputs from "over 600 of the world’s best travel journalists, editors, bloggers and agencies — the people who do this for a living — to gain insight from their opinions and expertise." I've compiled the top ten into a slideshow.
Not to encourage everyone to hop on airplanes for super-quick vacations, which would be anti-TreeHugger, I hope you use these images as I do -- the perfect antidote to a dreary day in late fall. Kick back and enjoy the views.
