Incandescent light bulbs are becoming so rare that they have become fetishistic objects put on display. East Van Light mounts old inefficient bulbs on blocks of recycled chopsticks from Vancouver sushi restaurants and says that they " proud to put sustainability at the forefront of design." There is a bit of a contradiction there.
Inspired by giving under-utilized urban waste a second life, ChopValue’s vision is to actively involve Vancouverites in greener and more sustainable actions. In their first year of operation, ChopValue has recycled 2 million chopsticks from 13 local restaurants.
