TreeHugger is on-site at New York Fashion Week, delivering all the green fashion goodness for Fall 2011. Today we bring you Suzanne Rae, who describes her collection as "Victorian gone grunge--the Gibson girl re-fractured through the prism of the 90s."
And don't miss the Fall 2011 lineup for Organic by John Patrick.
Showcased in the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse at Lincoln Center yesterday, Rae's vision was executed with the help of a romantic video by Alexandra Roxo, which saw Suzanne Rae-clad models drinking bourbon by candle light, and tunes by Mother Feather.
Models took to the runway in ready-to-wear garments in warm pinks, browns, and greys and herringbone and plaid patterns. The designer's signature mullet skirt--as in, short in the front, long in the back--also graced the runway in a surprisingly wearable dress.
Gibson Girl Gone Grunge
This faux fur cotton fringe vest is as functional as it is on trend. The sheer leggings, on the other hand, are less than functional and probably wouldn't look good on anyone but a model--or a pin-thin look-alike.
