New York Fashion Week has kicked off once again with an influx of the well-heeled crowd, and TreeHugger is covering live onsite, to deliver you the inside scoop on the best of green fashion for Fall 2011.
First up, Organic by John Patrick. Fine wool sweaters, hand knit by Amanda Henderson and sourced from Hudson Valley Sheep and Wool Company, to printed textiles, sourced from Canton, MA and cut and sewn in the heart of the New York City Garment District define his Fall 2011 collection, which masters the art of building garments locally, from the source to final product.
Patrick employed SourceMap--a free, open source, and volunteer-driven platform that shares supply chain information--to help him share his sourcing story.

The grand finale of the show was an organic wool hand-knit coat over an printed silk bias dress. It demonstrates the integral elements of John Patrick's fall 2011 collection: contrasting textiles, layering, and garments that adorn their wearer with ease and comfort.
