Brierly learned the art of natural silk dyeing from master dyer Cheryl Kolander, whom she calls "the Alice Waters of the textile world." Colors are derived from various plants such as cochineal, fustic, and logwood, which create complex and luminous colors. At left, silk gown from the Isoude Spring 2010 collection.
