Most Americans want solar, so why aren't they going solar? (Charts)

American homeowners like the idea of going solar

Solar is typically the most-supported, most-liked energy option. This survey again finds popular support for solar power. A majority of homeowners (62%) actually responded that they would like to use solar in their home, another 28% were not sure, and only 11% said they didn't want to use solar.

That's uplifting, but it's also a stark contrast with current solar power uptake. Less than 1% of our electricity supply comes from solar power. Meanwhile, people have been answering such polls in a similar way for years. So, what gives? What's taking these people so long to actually go solar?
