A Red-bellied Woodpecker (Melanerpes carolinus) enjoys a treat left for him by photographer Ted Roger Karson. I love how clearly you can see the the black and white pattern on the bird’s wings. In addition to nuts and seeds, these birds mainly dine on insects and spiders.
