This spider belongs to the genius Deinopis. These spiders hunt by holding web between their legs, then lunging to trap prey in the net of silk. They are commonly called net-casting spiders or ogre-faced spiders. This one was photographed by Andreas Kay near Sumaco Volcano in Ecuador.
