Squirrels scamper about, they climb and dig and skitter and generally act, you know, squirrely. Sometimes they freeze on their haunches, but how often do they stand perfectly still in such an elegant pose as is pictured here? It's as if this Western gray squirrel (Sciurus griseus) thought, "camera? How does my tail look?" What a beauty!
