"I found this Common Buttonbush growing on a local beach," writes photographer Elise Marks. "This distant relative of coffee (family Rubiaceae) grows in wetland areas. Ducks and other waterfowl eat the seeds." The scientific name for this species is Cephalanthus occidentalis L.
