All birds should have such a beautiful portrait of themselves.

While woodpeckers are surely easy to hear, their favored spots deep in the trees make them not so easy to spot. And even more elusive is the chance to have a nice long gaze at their majestic faces. With that in mind, thank you to photographer Tony LePrieur who took this gorgeous portrait of a pileated woodpecker at Fish Creek Park, Calgary AB. What a beauty!
