The gorgeous and noble American kestrel (Falco sparverius) is sometimes called a sparrow hawk, but is really a small falcon – and the only kestrel found in the Americas. It is the most common falcon in North America ... and if the gaze revealed in this striking photo by Christina Anne M is any indication, it's one wise bird!
