The Unnaturalism of Human Habitat

Rising sea levels are a concern, especially for coastal cities. Might this be what our cities look like once sea levels rise too much for us to stay on low terrain? Will whales even survive to see our cities from above?

From artist Don Simon: Throughout history, particularly since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, mankind has been less than kind to their cohabitants on the planet. We build, produce and consume with little or no regard to the impact it has on the environment. It is the nature of nature to adapt and evolve in order to survive, and we are forcing other species to deal with compromised, damaged or destroyed ecosystems.

Whale Fact: Pre-whaling population estimates were over 350,000 blue whales, but up to 99% of blue whales were killed during whaling efforts. Presently, there are an estimated 5-10,000 blue whales in the Southern Hemisphere, and only around 3-4,000 in the Northern Hemisphere.
