Photo: Meet the sweet tuco-tuco

Miranda Teran photographed this cute critter in Chile. “I spot this small fella at Salar de Tara nearby San Pedro de Atacama,” Teran writes. “Tuco tuco or "chululo" in [the] local language, are rodents only found in South America. They dig their burrows as this one in my pic was doing.” The tuco-tuco gets its name from the noise it makes while digging.
