Rick Derevan captures an incredible moment—just as a great blue heron grabs a fish. He writes:
“I watched this heron fish the Moclips River for about 45 minutes or so, and it was quite successful, catching three fish in the short time I watched. After catching them it would walk up to the sand on the edge of the river—and with good reason. One of the fish temporarily escaped the bill only to land on the sand and be promptly caught again. And eaten.”
