Author and illustrator Julia Rothman grew up on City Island, a unique part of the Bronx that is at once a small beach community and on the edge of one of the densest urban areas in America. Although she now lives in busy Brooklyn, she still feels a connection and fascination with the slower pace of nature, inspiring her to create “Nature Anatomy.” The book serves as a kind of introduction to the natural world for those of us who have become more removed from it, at once a field guide and a how-to manual for exploring nature with all your senses.
