Sperm Whale

The sperm whale is the largest toothed whale, with as many as 26 teeth in each side of its giant lower jaw, and estimates say that more than 1 million of these sperm whales were caught in the heyday of the whaling industry.

The sperm whale was added to the Endangered Species Conservation Act of 1969, but it's now believed that there are between 200,000 and 1.5 million of them in the worlds' oceans, according to NOAA.
