In people, they say the eyes are the windows to the soul -- and that same saying could apply to animals, too. From the rainbow-colored compact lens of a horsefly and the gentle eyes of a giraffe to the tiny beads on an elephant and the thoughtful look of an owl, these closeups offer a rare look at the personality of animals all over the world.
