Obama Brings Green Food Ideas to the White House

The year started off with a bang when Barack Obama was inaugurated as President. With his ascension to the White House came the promise of better food policy, a larger role for sustainability in our nation's food, and a cautious optimism that the prescient connections between environment and food would be more thoroughly addressed. All these ideas were verbalized by Michael Pollan in his open letter to the next President, where he proposed a 'Sun Food' agenda and recommended that we hire a 'Farmer-in-Chief'. Everything he wanted didn't quite come true, but it was a hopeful beginning to a busy year.
