A look at the section shows so many of the techniques that we love: proper overhangs on the windows to let in lower winter sun and stop higher summer sun; A heat recovery ventilator connected to an underground tube for fresh air input; photovoltaics on the roof that give a boost to the hot water heating that is connected to the wood stove. It is finished off with phase changing panels that absorb heat in the day and release it at night.
