You can use hot chili oil in Italian applications as well as Asian. Add some sea salt and oregano for dipping bread in or drizzling on pizza, or add sesame oil and a touch of rice wine vinegar for dumpling-dipping and stir-fried dishes.
It couldn't be easier:
- Heat 1 cup olive in a pot until hot but not smoking
- Add it to a jar with 2 ounces of red pepper flakes already in it
- Let it cool
After a few days, strain the peppers out, or leave the peppers in and store the oil in the refrigerator.
