Experience

Hicks has served as writer, producer, copy editor and managing editor of Mother Nature Network (MNN.com, now part of Treehugger) since joining the site in 2008, when it was founded. She plans, helps create and edits all content on the site across all topic areas, from pets to food to endangered species. Prior to that, she worked at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in a wide variety of roles. She started as a news designer and copy editor, eventually managing those teams and designing the front page of the South’s largest newspaper. She went on to edit and manage several of the digital site’s most engaged channels, including homes and travel. Before that she wrote news and feature stories, edited copy, and designed pages for several daily newspapers across the Southeast.
