Idaho Wants 100 Megawatts of Geothermal by 2008

Idaho Power has issued a request for proposals for 100 megawatts (MW) of electricity to be produced by geothermal generation. Idaho Power Senior Vice President for Power Supply Jim Miller said: "The addition of 100 MW of geothermal generation to our generation mix gives further depth to our growing portfolio of renewable energy resources. This new source of electricity will further our commitment to provide a reliable supply of electricity to our customers with as little impact to our environment as possible." The project is expected to be completed and operational by 2008. The complete request for proposals, which also includes 200 megawatts of wind power, can be read here. We encourage Idaho readers to consider signing up for Idaho Power's Green Power (with emphasis on wind and solar). ::Request For Proposals Issued For 100 Megawatts Of Geothermal Power, via ::Renewable Energy Access
