One for Mom, One for Mother Earth

There's always talk around Earth Day about how you should "love your mother" -- and that means Mother Earth. But in case you're the type who doesn't keep track of things, you'd better be prepared to love your real mother come May 10, which is Mother's Day.

At the risk of shamelessly promoting something that helps my organization do its good work, I want to let you know about a gift idea that we've been getting a great response to, because it's fun, meaningful -- and helps protect wild places. And hey, we've got a special deal going for Mother's Day.It's not too late to give mom the greenest gift of all, a virtual wild place sponsorship! What you do is sponsor a wild place -- pick a national park you want to support in honor of your mom -- and she'll get a certificate of sponsorship, letter of recognition, fact sheet and a picture of this special wild place. In a matter of minutes you can download your gift to print out at home -- or send to Mom by email.

It's an easy way to help support the Sierra Club, make a donation and get mom a green gift at the same time.  There are sponsorships available for Giant Sequoia, the Grand Canyon, the Everglades, the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Yosemite, Yellowstone, and Acadia National Park .

The way we look at it, it's one for your mom, and one for Mother Earth.
