Biking America with We Add Up to Raise Awareness and Fight Global Warming

This post is one in a series of video blogs about biking across America with WE ADD UP to raise awareness about how to stop global warming. Check out more posts in this series here.

Hi there. We're Carson and Eric, friends and transportation consultants in Boston, where we share an office adorned by a large pirate flag. We've taken some shorter trips (Mount Washington, Death Valley, etc.), but when Carson, the endurance athlete, came up with the idea of biking across America, Eric, the planner, figured it was a good excuse for a much bigger adventure. The plan: Carson will bike the whole distance, while Eric -- who will bike some of the way -- provides support, all in the name of raising awareness about how to reduce our carbon footprint. With the nod from our bosses, and in partnership with WE ADD UP, we set out on a sunny Saturday morning from Boston, joined by many of our friends and colleagues at a cheery send-off.Day 1 took us 108 miles to Windsor Locks, CT and was a great backdrop to explain how bicycling is pretty much the best form of transportation: fast, fit, fun, and free (of carbon!). (Not mentioned in the video: our friends Katie and Jordan also biked all 108 miles of Day 1!)

WE ADD UP is an organic t-shirt campaign that counts you in the fight to stop global warming. Choose an action you're committing to doing on the back of your tee. 28 choices include Recycle, Buy Local, Bike, Plant Trees, and Shower Together. And, on the front of your tee, we custom hand-print YOUR number to count you in. Your number represents your position in the global count of people adding up to make change. Each tee is totally unique and starts conversations wherever it is worn. Enter coupon code "bikeguys" at checkout and receive 10% off your purchase. Get counted now!
