Yesterday was National Shrimp Day. Tomorrow is National Nutty Fudge Day. I’m not making this stuff up. (Someone else gets to make it up). I could write a post every day about that day's food holiday — but I usually don’t. Today happens to be National Eat What You Want Day, and, I want to know, if you could eat anything you want, what would it be? It’s confession time. I don’t want to see anyone say that they would eat their weight in kale chips. You might like kale chips. You might love kale chips. But, if there was ever a time in your life when you ate a diet that didn’t consist of kale chips, quinoa salad and green smoothies (yummy as those things are), I know there’s something you’d love to eat that isn’t part of your regular diet any more. For me, it’s Frosted Strawberry Pop Tarts, perhaps with a chaser of Cheetos. Will I eat them today? No. I’m not going to let someone’s made-up holiday dictate what I’ll eat. Will I ever eat them again? Most likely. When we go on vacation, we relax the junk food rules. You’ll get no condemnation from me. No judgment. So go ahead, tell us what you’d like to indulge in on National Eat What You Want Day, even if you’re not going to.
