After reading one of the must-read green jobs books, you may find yourself newly employed in the green jobs industry. If your new office isn’t green, however, now is the time to pick up one of the following must-read green office books.

Greening Your Office: From Cupboard to Corporation, An A-Z Guide by Jon Clift and Amanda Cuthbert
Published in April 2008, Greening Your Office is one of The Chelsea Green Guides and provides readers with practical advice on creating a more eco-friendly office place. “These tips help your workplace save money while reducing environmental impacts, and can boost employee morale in the process. Your choices for coffee, computer monitors, furniture, invoices, lighting, paper, stamps, and hundreds of other items can add up to a better world.” Source: Chelsea Green

True Green at Work: 100 Ways You Can Make the Environment Your Business by Kim McKay, Jenny Bonnin and Tim Wallace
True Green at Work is the second book in National Geographic’s True Green series. The first book was written about individuals and homes and the third book is designed for children. True Green at Work provides eco-friendly office tips that employees on every rung of the corporate ladder can implement. The book was published in February 2008 and so you should be able to find it at your local library.

Green to Gold: How Smart Companies Use Environmental Strategy to Innovate, Create Value, and Build Competitive Advantage by Daniel Etsy and Andrew Witson
The newest book on my list, Green to Gold, goes beyond basic green office tips and looks at how companies can create a truly sustainable business plan. This isn’t a book to read if you just want to find out how to reduce your printing needs. Instead, the ideas in this book could potentially transform your entire company. Green to Gold is available for the Kindle and a downloadable audio book is also available.

These books are three of the most recent, and most relevant, green office books on the market. This list is by no means an exhaustive list of green office books available today but they will provide readers with the foundation needed to launch a green office initiative.
