Home Delivery: Modern Prefab Lives Fast, Dies Young, Leaves Good Looking Corpse

System3 by Oscar Leo Kaufmann and Albert Ruf

Oscar Leo Kaufmann and Albert Ruf have been doing modern prefab for as long as anyone practicing today and the experience shows in the System3 house, a remarkably refined and elegant structure with every detail and connection resolved. This is truly a machine for living, a 570 square foot mimimalist gem.

All those little round windows dapple the interior with light;

minimalist, clean interior;

someone should put this bathroom wall into production;

cantilevered kitchen range;

The System 3 house comes closest to the reality of modern prefab at its best- since they built SuSi in 1996 these guys have been polishing their act and it really shows.
