Experience

Mike McNessor has more than 19 years of career experience writing about the automotive industry. However, his love for all things automotive goes back to his childhood. As a teen, Mike wrote and announced for the Lebanon Valley Dragway.

Mike's career began in 1999 when he was the Automotive Editor at the Times Union in Albany for over six years. He then became an editor with Hemmings Motor News in 2005. In that same year, Mike and a few friends headed to Mexico to race a 1961 Impala in the Carrera Pan Americana race. The experience inspired his book, ¡Carrera!: How the world's greatest race got into my head and kicked my butt (McNessor & Co., 1st edition, 2016). In his spare hours, Mike enjoys rebuilding old cars, motorcycles, and trucks.

Education

Mike McNessor earned a Bachelor Arts (B.A.) in English and Journalism from the State University of New York at Albany.
