Megan Treacy is a writer and editor based in Austin, Texas. She was a technology columnist at Treehugger from 2012 to 2018, former managing editor at, and now works as a freelancer.


Treacy is fascinated by how technology and human innovation can work together to protect the earth. She has written extensively about science, technology, and green living for both Treehugger and, and in her work as a freelance writer. Prior to these jobs, Treacy wrote about positive parenting solutions. She lives in Austin, Texas.


Treacy has a degree in print journalism and mass communication from the University of South Carolina.
