Lauren Settembrino is an enthusiastic plant mom of a thriving collection of succulents and fruit trees that currently occupies her windowsills. With her major in English from NYU, she combines her love of watching things grow with her desire to give readers the best, most educational experience possible.
Settembrino has been a writer and editor for Treehugger since 2020. Prior to this, she spent a year editing for Dotdash’s learning website, ThoughtCo., working with literature and performing arts content.
She has also written extensively on careers topics including resume-writing practices, interviews, and the job search.
Settembrino holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. While there, she also completed a second major in English, where she focused largely on the emotional effects of poetic techniques.
She was regularly named to the Dean’s List and was named a University Honors Scholar with cum laude distinction upon graduation.
