Green Energy
Gunshinan is a writer and editor of nonfiction and creative nonfiction works. He has published articles about green home building and renovation, energy, the environment, and climate change. He has also published articles on science and spirituality, personal essays, and poetry.
Over 20 years, Gunshinan moved from assistant to managing editor for Home Energy Magazine, which covered sustainable home building and renovation for a professional audience of contractors, weatherization professionals, and utility efficiency program managers, among others. He continued as Senior Editor when the magazine joined with the Building Performance Association in 2018 and the magazine was renamed the Building Performance Journal.
Gunshinan has a bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science from the University of Notre Dame and a master's degree in Bioengineering from The Pennsylvania State University, where he researched the artificial heart.
