Seen in New York: LED Holiday Lights in Midtown

The holiday season is upon us and all around the city festive decorations are up. For the second year in a row, the little sparkly lights that grace the streets of my Midtown neighborhood are LEDs! Manufactured by the Diogen company, these long-lasting, low-maintenance, lights are so energy-efficient over a half-mile of lights can be connected end to end with just one single electrical plug!"These lights cost about 1 cent per day to operate," says Scott Schellas, VP of Capital Projects for the Grand Central Partnership. "We found them at the annual light show at the Javits Center," he continues. Created in mid 1980's by Midtown Manhattan property owners and businesses the Grand Central Partnership is charged with of keeping the area around Grand Central Terminal clean, beautiful, safe and friendly to residents and visitors alike. I say - keep up the good work! ::
